Monifieth High School - Polar Expedition 2023 · 24 March 2023

We are a children's mental health charity that aims to stop the downward spiral of negativity many young people are now on. Our training programme aims to empower young people, teach them to take control of their own lives and their future and help them find the voice they never knew they had.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page!

The Polar Academy identifies invisible 14-17 year old secondary children (some of who are crushed by lack of self esteem, have been bullied or suffered traumatic events in their lives) and gives them the chance to re-define their physical and mental limits.

The children are put through a rigorous 10 months training programme before being immersed in the wilds of Greenland, navigating through some of the world's remotest terrain for 10 days.

On their return to Scotland, each pupil shares their experience with their peer groups, speaking to more than 20,000 children in their region. The children are living breathing proof that their dreams are attainable.

A team from Monifieth High School have been selected for this once in a lifetime opportunity and we would like to do as much as possible to support them.
