I'm duck-footed and devoid of will-power but I'm doing it. I'm running London Marathon. April 2015 will be 10 years since my mom was diagnosed with Myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. No doubt she'll complain that this is morbid and unnecessary but she has already way outlived the average lifespan of a sufferer and I promised myself I'd do it in her lifetime.
The last 18 months have been the hardest yet so if anything's going to push me through "the wall", it'll be seeing my mom screaming at me from the sidelines.
Myeloma UK has offered me a "gold bond" (ie lucky) place to run it, for which I have pledged to raise £2000. Anything anyone can spare to help me reach that goal, will mean a lot to me, my mom and everyone with Myeloma.
Update:
My mother, Marilyn, died on the 28th February. Thank you all so much for your love and generosity.
