The Climb - Three Peaks Challenge (in school) · 15 April 2020

FareShare Midlands redistributes surplus food from the food industry to charities and community groups supporting men, women and children living in food poverty. Last year we redistributed 6,000 tonnes of surplus food, providing 13 million meals and reaching more than 83,000 vulnerable people.

Story

Over the next week in school, I will be taking on a
challenge – the Three Peaks Challenge. Normally, this would involve somebody climbing the three tallest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales – Scarfell Pike, Ben Nevis and Mount Snowdon – that have a combined height of 3408m. However, in these current times, it would be impossible to visit these three mountains so I will be using the school staircase instead. Over the next week, I will be climbing the staircase 852 times in order to complete the challenge!

The challenge is being done to raise money for Fareshare East Midlands. This is a charity that is currently working tirelessly to ensure
the most vulnerable people in our society are getting the food they need over the pandemic.

At Glenbrook, one of our values is ‘Collective Community’ – a value we clearly share with Fareshare. We can all do our bit to help each other through this difficult time.
