Story

Dear friends and families,

Due to the recent abnormal seasonal weather conditions the rainfall has been more than usual in decades.

As the rainfall has not settled down, all reservoirs and dams are overflowing and could now causefurther damage to local villages and towns.

The government has sent military support and other rescue services to save the local helpless people. But there are still some parts of North and North-East of Sri Lanka that have flood water stored in fields and lands. The substantial negative consequences could be the spreading of mosquitos and contaminated water related diseases such as Malaria, Diarrhoea, etc. Unsafe drinking-water and unimproved sanitation and poor hygiene can present significant health risks by exposing vast populations to various microbial, chemical and other hazards.

Serendip Children's Home charity have their own local volunteers to support these types of scenarios where the government have sometimes missed or ignored to support some parts of the country.

There is still much urgent need of support required for severalneeds such as medical, shelters, essential needs such as clothes, drinking water, foods, sanitary, lavatories, education, psychological support, etc. to be put in place to all the affectedpeople.

In order to fulfil and support these essential needs, I am urgently seeking your vital support and help through our charity. I would sincerely appreciate your kind support in whatever minimum affordable amount you can donate which will even give the affected people a cup of tea a day.

I hope you understand the basic needs required for these unfortunate people affected in this tradegy in a third worlddeveloping country.

I really appreciate your kind and every soulful support that you can provide.

Kind regards

Loges Elavalagan
