On mother’s day this year it will be 10 years since the hospital told us that Harry’s life support had been turned off following a live organ donation. 5 days prior to this he was a healthy, clever, charming, beautiful 5 year old boy! He had suffered an asthma attack leading to a hospital admission that I never realised would end his life but following a delay in medication and oxygen deprivation he suffered catastrophic brain stem damage which had been masked by various medications and life support. I spent my birthday sat by his side praying for him to wake up. I would have given my life to give him back to the world. As I write this I can feel the anger and pain welling up inside of me. It takes an immense amount of strength not to let it consume me but I made a choice many years ago to channel that into doing good, just like Harry would have done. He had his whole life ahead of him, a world full of dreams and hopes dashed in an instant and replaced with what ifs and maybes.

It is now my role to ensure his life was not in vain and therefore strive every day to help bereaved children with the charity set up in his memory.

I will be undertaking challenges this year starting with the fastest zip line in the world where I wil travel at over 100 miles an hour! 

I will be undertaking various running events and in September I will be cycling London to Brighton fo Harry’s 16th Birthday.
