Story

Friday March 4th 2016, whilst 8 months pregnant, I was violently attacked whilst walking into the town centre. I was stabbed 24 times. My right lung collapsed, the outer part of my heart, diaphragm, liver and uterus (carrying my baby) were all pierced. My wrist was slashed, severing the artery, nerves and tendons.

I was air lifted by the Midlands Air Ambulance in a critical condition. Every minute counted as both my baby and I fought to stay alive. I was taken to a major trauma unit in a life saving 8 minutes where I underwent emergency surgery. Both my daughter and I amazingly survived.

If it were not for the speedy transfer we would definitely not be here now. The skill of the entire crew that day was needed as they flew in adverse weather conditions and landed in a tight town centre road junction on a hill!

Although NO WHERE near back to full fitness yet and still suffering from chest and hand injuries, I have decided to take on the challenge of The Wolf Run in September with the Mere Green Fitness First team. This will be a massive challenge for me!!

The Mere Green Fitness First team will be dragging me around (!) the course with the aim of us raising as much money as possible for this life saving cause.

It costs more than £7 million to run the Midland Air Ambulance each year. Unbelievably this is all funded through charitable donations! None of us, like me, know when we will need their services!

I have set a target of £2400 - reflecting my daughter's weight when born. However it would be AMAZING to smash this.

Please dig deep and thank you so much for your support for this life saving cause.
