Story

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.

Now, a bit about the challenge and us:

At the start of June, we will be attempting to complete The National Three Peaks Challenge.

The Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, respectively, in just 24 hours (this includes traveling times!).
The peaks are:

Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m)

Scafell Pike, in England (978m)

Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)

Climbers are Ed Brown, Nick Coyne, Danny Howard, Tom Maloney, Darryl (Barney) Smith and Dan Timlick. With two drivers: Aaron Davies and Woody Mazota.

Now for those of you that know us, you will already be aware of the fact that we are not professional mountaineers (not even close!) so it will be an extremely difficult task. But we will be giving it our best shot, as it is all for a good cause.

We are hoping to raise as much money as possible, so we ask for your donations that will go to the following charities:

The Derbyshire Asbestos Support Team, which provides help for victims and families of asbestos related diseases throughout the East Midlands;

The Hayward House Hospice, a palliative cancer care centre based at Nottingham’s City Hospital and;

Macmillan Cancer Support which improves the lives of people affected by cancer across the UK.

Everyone involved in the Challenge works in the construction industry and we are all too familiar with the dangers of working with asbestos. Therefore, we have chosen charities that make a real difference to people who have been affected by asbestos related diseases.

This JustGiving page is specifically for Macmillan but we will be trying to collect equally for all three charities (via non other means), please contact us if you would prefer to give to the other charities.
