Story
We are a group of teenagers from Nottingham that have been involved in the National Citizens Seevice, through out this programme we have met so many inspirational people that are constantly giving back to their communities and we would like to do the same.
We are raising money for the Nottinghamshire Hospice which looks after patients that are coming towards the end of their lives. These are precious times that should be spent relaxing and enjoying each day. The time spent in the Hospice should make the patients feel safe and looked after by those around them; we aim to raise money to buy equipment to make life easier and enjoyable, also to fund projects that enhance life in challenging times.
The Hospice supplies a range of in house activities which include complementary therapies, for example, physiotherapy, counselling, massages and medical care. This is combined this with social activities such as: arts and creative media, social events, visiting entertainment and meals. They also provide access to off site activities, for example, parks and gardens, cultural centres and city centre attractions. Not only does the hospice supply support for its' core patient group, but also to friends and family, providing respite care and an extended supportive social network.
The Nottinghamshire Hospice relies solely on charitable donations made by you the general public and other generous organisations for their funding. Without this the hospice would not be able to succeed in the outstanding work they do everyday and would be unable to help the patients that reply on their services.
