Story

Story

As an amazing Hair Stylist, Nena has over time come across or been part of cutting hair prior to cancer treatment for an increasing number of our guests, friends or family. She is so grateful for being well and healthy herself and wanted to give something back to help those less fortunate. I stand behind her 100% as friend and & as an employer and will be doing everything we can to support her in this event.

We know this has been a very difficult time for everyone recently, and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for whatever donation you can give to this wonderful event.

Our Vision-To increase the UK's awareness of melanoma, and its prevention through advocacy, education, and research. To support melanoma patients, caregivers, and medical professionals through coordinated information and services. To create a support network advocating for additional treatment options and provide a united voice for our patient community dealing with melanoma.

Our Ethical Standards-At Melanoma UK, we believe in operating our charity using best practices of corporate governance and ethical standards. We are committed to organisational growth balanced with fiscal responsibility to ensure funds entrusted to us reach established goals.

The Little Princess Trust has provided more than 10,000 wigs, free of charge, to young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions such as Alopecia. They are also one of the UK’s largest charity funders of children’s cancer research and, since 2016, have committed more than £7million to projects focused on finding kinder and more effective treatments for childhood cancers.

About the charity

Melanoma UK was set up in 2007 in memory of Jon Herron. We support patients and families affected by melanoma (skin cancer) and funds raised help to provide that support. We are funding much needed melanoma nurses along with help in vital research. Melanoma is a cruel disease, still without a cure.
