Wow! A huge thank you to everyone who has very kindly sponsored us so far!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit NFU Claims Team's Just Giving Page
We are entering a relay team in the Belfast Marathon together with a few Marathon Walkers to raise much need funds for the new Macmillan Palliative Care Centre in Antrim. Patricia's own Father sadly passed away this time last year and whilst unfortunatley he was not able to avail of the invaluable benefits of this unit as it has only recently opened, he & his family were blessed with the help & support of the Antrim Macmillan staff in Antrim whom greatly improved the last days he had with us all.
This is a very personal challenge to us & a fitting way we feel of remembering those we have all loved so dearly & lost so sadly, so please any little you can donate is very much appreciated!
Many thanks,
NFU Mutual Claims
Patricia, Helen, Richard, Paul, Alan, Michelle & Kelly
Some info about the unit:
Thursday 8 March 2012 marked the opening of the new palliative care unit at Antrim Area Hospital and Northern Ireland Health Minister Edwin Poots was there to cut the ribbons.
The £5m unit is jointly funded by the Northern Trust and Macmillan, thanks to a massive £2.1m raised from our supporters across Northern Ireland. We also gave another £800,000 which will help cover staff costs.
The much needed unit has 12 ensuite rooms and provides additional facilities for relatives. It’s the first of its kind and will ensure that people in the Northern Trust get high quality end of life care, whether they have cancer or another kind of life limiting illness.
