NHS London to Paris Cycle · 25 September 2019

We support the work of Royal Papworth Hospital as the UK’s leading centre of excellence for the treatment and diagnosis of cardiothoracic disease, to provide additional amenities for our patients and their families and to fund Papworth’s pioneering research activity and vision for the future.

Story

To celebrate 70 years of the NHS and the Centenary of Royal Papworth Hospital; Dan, Richard and Jas will be cycling from London to Paris in September 2019 as Patient, Transplant Coordinator and Consultant.

In 2018 Dan Peel underwent a double lung transplant at Royal Papworth Hospital. Prior to the transplant Dan couldn't climb two flights of stairs without being breathless. In the year that followed he made a remarkable recovery; successfully climbing Mount Snowdon 6 months to the day of his surgery and now sets eyes on the next challenge - cycling 350miles from London to Paris over 4 days in September.

However Dan's recovery and the recovery of hundreds of patients would not be possible were it not for the skill and dedication of staff at Royal Papworth Hospital. Staff such as Richard Quigley - Lead Transplant Nurse and Jasvir Parmar - Transplant Consultant who will also take up the challenge.

This page will support the three of us in fundraising and sponsorship for our ride. All money raised will go to supporting Royal Papworth in continuing their work and in promoting organ donation and transplantation.

In addition to this page Dan is holding a Charity Golf Day at Hennerton Golf Club. 18 holes with BBQ and prizes to be won. Please contact Dan for more details (daniel.peel@hotmail.co.uk)
