The N Team take on the Triple8 Challenge!

The N Team's Triple8 Challenge · 1 July 2020
Many of you will have seen Adnan wizzing about in little car (aka his Wizzybug!) over the last 3 months. Although he has had his Wizzy since he was two, since Lockdown began and Adnan has been at home he has been riding it almost every single day, and most days at least 2/3 times a day. It has given him the ability to move independently, something he would not have been able to do otherwise. His confidence has grown, and he has gone from only being able to reverse to fully manoeuvring himself around the garden! Adnan relies on us for everything, so for him to be able to move independently in his Wizzy has been truly amazing to see. It has also provided hours of entertainment over the lockdown period and we often can't get him out of it!
Designability are the charity who provide these electric wheelchairs to children below the age of 5. They provide these on a free loan scheme to families across the UK and they need our help to continue providing services like this. The Triple8 Challenge represents the distance between the two furthest away Wizzybugs (888 miles). We are taking part in the Triple8 Challenge to help them continue to create and provide products and services to disabled people across the UK.
We want to give back to the charity that has given Adnan so much. So we have set ourselves the challenge of riding/running/walking 888 kilometres over the next 8 weeks:
If you would like to join us, let us know!! The more the merrier!
These wheelchairs help to enable children gain greater independence and choice in every day life. Designability receives no statutory funding and the majority of the funds they need come from voluntary donations. If you want to find out more about their work, visit www.designability.org.uk. Any donation no matter how big or small will make a huge difference.
