As some of you may know I'm getting old and turning 30 this year (I know it was a bloody hard paper round).
So to prove I'm not getting TO old I've been looking for a new challenge. Rather than the usual Walk the South Downs Way or run the Nike London 10km I was after something different.
This came up with the first Birthday present, which I though was well thought out for once rather than the usual tat from my Mam! An entry into the New York Marathon.
While this is still pretty standard issue I got into how to spice it up. As an aging Sapper and running for the ABF The Soldiers’ Charity (the old Army Benevolent Fund) it was decided (over a couple of strict pre-race training regime beers) to Tab round the course.
For those of you not in the know, tabbing will involve running the 26.2 mile route carrying a bergen (rucksack) weighing 35lb (excluding food water) and wearing military boots.
Now unlike most people I'm not asking for £20, I'm not asking for £10 I'm not even asking for a £5. What would be really good is if I could get the price of a pint from your local (OK so it would be a £5 if you drink in mine) from everyone I know.
Cheers Easy, and thanks in advance for helping or even being arsed to read this far.
