So happy to report that WE DID IT!!!!
It was tough towards the end but with all this money riding on it we kept going. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that has donated money and supported me along the way.
It has been an emotional and exhausting journey but VERY worthwhile, so thanks again :-)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who know me well, you will be well aware that I don't do things by half....except the marathon that is!!
So, in true Nadia style after only starting running in June '09 I was instantly hooked and thought I would take the opportunity to run the Birmingham Half Marathon and raise some money for a very well respected, local charity, ACACIA.
I chose Acacia because I know many people that have benefitted from the service provided and would like to 'do my bit' to help. Not only through raising much needed money but also to increase awareness generally as it is something that is very close to my heart after just beginning to see the light now my own 3 children are almost 3, 5 and 6 years old xxxxxx
Based in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield since 2004, the Mission of Acacia is to offer a local support
service to mothers and their families affected by the symptoms of pre
and post natal depression; a service that offers hope, reassurance and
encouragement from volunteers who have experienced the
healing power of medication, personal support and faith; a service that
promotes a holistic approach to family well being.
Today, Acacia is a small but dynamically growing registered charity
working in the North Birmingham area with active plans to extend
services to East Birmingham, and later to additional areas. Acacia is a
volunteer led organisation, offering weekly one-to-one support services
staffed by volunteers who have suffered themselves or have a
professional or voluntary trained understanding of anxiety and
depression.
So please dig deep and donate now.
