Story
I have completed a few endurance challenges over the years from marathons to ironmans to representing GB to SwimRun but this is by far the biggest (and scariest) challenge to date. Having never done anything for charity this seems the most worthwhile.
Training has been steadily increasing over the weeks and the 2 week window of opportunity for the swim is getting much closer. (7th to 19th July)
More people have climbed Everest than swum the channel so I would like to be one of the <2000 people who have managed this amazing feat. A successful crossing is by no means guaranteed and a few people have sadly lost their lives trying to cross.
Any pennies for this amazing charity would be much appreciated and help motivate me to just keep swimming!
Plastic Oceans UK have been experts on plastic pollution for nearly a decade. This began with our award-winning documentary A Plastic Ocean, now available for streaming on Netflix. Each year an extra eight million tonnes of plastic enters the ocean. By supporting us, you're facilitating our education, science and sustainability programmes that will create a wave of change. Through changing attitudes, behaviours and practices on the use and value of plastics, we can stop plastic pollution reaching the ocean within a generation.
