Salam and Hi Everyone,

Basildon has a growing muslim population and yet there is no permanent place for community activities. It is one of the major towns in Essex and we are confident that establishing a Cultural Community Centre in Basildon will (In-shaa-Allah) benefit local Muslims and non-Muslim communities as well as those in the surrounding areas.  We hope and pray that this centre will provide the much needed community social, pastoral and welfare support and facilities for all and especially those in need. 

To help raise funds, my cousin, Omar, and me have decided to take on the 2nd highest mountain in Wales - Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons.  This mountain stands at 886m (2,907 ft) tall and is reportedly one of the toughest challenges that the British Army uses to test some of it’s fittest and strongest elite soldiers.  Perfect challenge then for us middle-aged (bit more than middle-aged!!), middle-spread mountain trekker wannabees!!! 

Help motivate us to get to the top in one piece by sponsoring us...even if it means us rolling all the way back down!!  Any donation of any amount most welcome (and needed before 4th October to secure the purchase)...as are your prayers and good wishes for a successful venture!!

We will be heading up the mountain on Thursday 3rd October and hope to be back by Christmas!!! :-D
