Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I wish to appeal for your Zakat/ Sadqa/ fitrana in order to raise funds to help the Syrian people displaced in Turkey due to the humanitarian disaster that has engulfed the Syrian people.
According to Amnesty international there are 38 million refugees from Syria, 95 per cent are in just five countries Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt. Turkey alone hosts 1.6 million refugees, which amounts to 2.4 per cent of the population. Due to the conflict around 190,000 people have been killed and 10.8 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. More than 10 million Syrians have been displaced. These statistics are astounding and relay the calamitous nature of the conflict in Syria.
It is our duty as Muslims to help our brother and sister in need. Charity is one of the pillars of Islam, a fundamental aspect of any Muslim’s life. Allah (swt) has granted us such blessing that we are able to eat, drink and sleep in comfort and live life of our own will. The people of Syria have been robbed of these abundant blessing and I can only dream to help my brothers and sisters in the tiniest way possible.
My personal background is such that I am a Sunni Muslim on the Shadhilli path. I am an Optometrist by profession and strive to better myself in all aspects of my life. My passion to help vulnerable people led me to complete a of period time as a domiciliary optometrist, where visiting care homes and providing my services to the elderly, gave me a further insight into my responsibility to help others as a muslimah.
Myself and all of my siblings are mureeds of Sayyiduna ash-Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi al-Hassani Hafidhahullah Ta’ala and I would be honored to partake in any activity in which Sayyiduna ash-Shaykh is a patron. Also, my family background is such that my brother was part of the SKT Welfare Ambulance Convoy in 2012 and, as well as many other charity events in between, he is participated in the London to Paris bike ride in May Alhamulillah. In addition my brother in law took part in the final ambulance convoy last year and I am applying for this deployment in an attempt to somehow make a difference to our Muslim brothers and sister.
In summary I will put 110% into each step taken to deliver the aid, whether that be raising the £6000 or traveling six days to deliver the aid to the Syrian people.
Please Please donate all that you can to help these helpless women and children survive the harsh winter. No amount is too little and God knows your intentions.
JazakAllah Khairan.
Your humble servant,
Nafeesa.
