Buddhabhumi Residential Dhamma Training for Indian youths for 2 years! · 9 May 2022

Dhammaloka is a UK charity and part of the Triratna Buddhist Community. It is dedicated to raising money in the UK to assist Buddhist social and Dhamma projects in India.

Story

Above are the first batch of heroes of 1993 March who contributed a lot to the sangha and movement. The product of residential training at Mahavihara Dapodi, Pune.

65 years have passed since Ambedkarite Buddhists embraced Buddhism. Since then, outside Maharashtra, they haven't received any systematic training or resources to teach Dhamma to these people, resulting in them getting back to their old religion.

The Indian sangha is getting much older, and 80% of the order members are over 65 to 70 years old. Only15 order members are below 40 years of age. How long can the order in India survive?

Our vision is to work for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's dream of Prabuddha Bharat ( Enlightened India). We are bringing youths from around India who would effectively dedicate themselves to the three jewels and spread the movement across India.

We are starting a two-year residential dhamma training program for youths this year. The training will be fully engaged and consist of vigorous dhamma study with experienced order members, daily meditation practice, and rituals. In addition to that, we will provide livelihood training so that they can stand financially on their own feet. The training will provide free accommodation with a small amount of stipend.

We hope to provide residential training for 15 Mitras and beginners for two years at our beautiful building, Mahavihara, Dapodi Pune.

We are asking our friends worldwide to generously support this project, as your contribution will directly assist these trainees in their effective going for refuge to the three jewels. If we raise £10 000, it will cover all necessary costs for two years program. ( in Indian currency, Rs-10,51,500/- Ten lacs fifty-one thousand and five hundred only).

With many thanks.
