Where can you walk for 95miles, get eaten alive, soaked in torrential rain, blow about like a rag doll and try and raise money for charity. Scotland of course, the West Highland Way to be specific.
I am aiming to raise money for Cancer Research by walking from Milngavie to (95 miles) Solo in approximately 3/ 3.5 days, normally 6 or 7 days, starting on Saturday 1st August. The route is ’s most famous walking route with a mixture of rocky paths, stream crossings, large ascents and descents. If you want more information on what I am planning to undertake please visit www.west-highland-way.co.uk.
Why?
Cancer Research deserves support for the work that they do. Against an illness that could affect any of us or someone close to us. I lost my dad 21 years ago to cancer so I have always had close link to the devastation it can have on families. We all know of someone who has contracted some form of cancer and the toll it can take. Thankfully many forms have successful treatments and screening processes. This is party due to the research done by independent charitable bodies such as Cancer Research, so I want to help carry that on.
Doing this for charity gives me the extra encouragement to make me go hell for leather and get it done, saying that it is for the good of many as well as myself. Target wise anything helps so I haven't set one. So please help me raise as much money as possible for this cause and benefit us all. If you would like to donate but don't like the t'interweb methods please let me know and I can help out. I can be contacted on nairnwatt@hotmail.com if you would like to speak to me about anything, or even give me advice.
All who help me raise money will be sent a link for photos, proof if you like, as a thank you.
