At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This weekend I run the Richmond Hilly 10km and although a bit lastminute.com with this request I have decided to try and raise a bit of money for a charity close to my heart. My nanda died 17 years ago after a battle with Alzheimers, what a cruel disease. We all lived it with him and to this day still do. Willie Haslam was a gentle, funny, kind man, hard working - a post world war one baby and a soldier in the second. What a shame to have him taken away, not to have lived his retirement days in peace. Anyone who has lost a loved one to dementia of any kind will understanding the continual grieving process and the loss of someone before they have taken their last breath. If you are willing to donate even the smallest amount for my chalenge this weekend in support of this charity I thank you so much.
