This weekend I run the Richmond Hilly 10km and although a bit lastminute.com with this request I have decided to try and raise a bit of money for a charity close to my heart. My nanda died 17 years ago after a battle with Alzheimers, what a cruel disease. We all lived it with him and to this day still do. Willie Haslam was a gentle, funny, kind man, hard working - a post world war one baby and a soldier in the second. What a shame to have him taken away, not to have lived his retirement days in peace. Anyone who has lost a loved one to dementia of any kind will understanding the continual grieving process and the loss of someone before they have taken their last breath.
