Most of us take light for granted, but in Uganda, where there are just 12 hours of light a day and no mains electricity. Light is precious. Just $50 (£37) can light up a family's life.

Story

Edukid's fantastic supporter and volunteer, Natalie Corrall, raised funds to provide solar panels to some of the most in need families in Gulu and Nwoya, Northern Uganda.

To these families, light means everything. It means more precious hours in a busy, short day. It means being able to do homework once chores have been done. It means better grades and better school attendance. It means the opportunity to dream of a brighter future.

When Natalie saw the incredible impact that solar panels have on lives, she was determined to fundraise for more. That such a relatively small thing can literally light up lives is amazing. Natalie and Solar 4 Students have done more than give the gift of light; they have given hope to families in need.

This is Natalie's third year of fundraising and it has been incredible to see the impact that the solar panels have had on lives.
