I only started swimming front crawl in February and could barely swim a length. I have since completed a pool swim sprint triathlon (400m swim 20k bike 5k run) with great success. My next challenge is  to take part in an open water event as I've never done this. I decided to really challenge myself and do the standard distance at pitsford in July. This includes 1500m lake swim (60 lengths of a pool) 40k bike and 10.2k run. I decided to do it for this great charity as it will encourage me to train hard and not give up as its for such a great cause. We are very fortunate in the UK to receive I great education unlike these girls living in these slums. For more info on the charity here's the link  http://teach-africa.org/about
