Edinburgh Marathon Festival Full Marathon 2019 · 26 May 2019 ·

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice provide specialist palliative care to adults and children across the Fylde Coast and much needed support for their families. Our services are available free of charge, but with limited government funding we need to raise over £12 million every year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Life's one big story, make it a good one!

Our Dad, Mike Butler was no ordinary guy, he never ceased to amaze us with his go-getter approach to life. From gate crashing a press party at The Open, to arranging for Colette and I to have afternoon tea at the Houses of Parliament, he always pushed boundaries! Not only was our Dad incredibly smart, but he was also one of these annoying people who succeed in all areas of his life! He was an avid Evertonian, great golfer (he'd love to hear that!), the born performer and a true gent. He is deeply missed by all but the memories will never fade and his legacy still lives.

Before he left us, he made a request that one day we would run for him, that day has come. It didn't take me long to decide where, Edinburgh was my Dad's first marathon and on 26th May it will be mine! He always liked a challenge so here goes mine.... I am taking on my dad and setting out to beat his very respectable finish time, wish me luck!

All the money raised will go to Trinity Hospice, who supported my Dad and his wife during the final weeks of my Dad's life. He would be delighted to know we are giving back to this worthy cause to help others in need.

This one's for you Dad! xx
