Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This year myself and Callum are going to be jumping out of an aeroplane at 15,000 ft. Not only are we knocking something off of our bucket lists, we thought that we would use this as an opportunity to raise money for charity. 

The charity we have chose is Max Appeal. Up until a couple of months ago I had no idea this charity existed and no idea of the things that it supports. Max Appeal supports families affected by DiGeorge Syndrome,  VCFS and 22q11.2 deletion. 

The reason we have chose this charity is to support our friend and her beautiful little boy Zack who has DiGeorge Syndrome. For something that is as common as Down Syndrome, it is not often heard of. We want to raise awareness of DiGeorge Syndrome and raise money for Max Appeal so they can continue to help and support other family's like they have been doing for Zack. 

DiGeorge Syndrome, is a genetic disorder that is usually noticeable at birth. Children with the condition can have heart defects, a cleft palate, learning difficulties, hormone and growth problems and potentially many other problems. In almost all cases, these symptoms and features result from a missing chromosome - a genetic fault or mutation called 22q11 deletion. DiGeorge Syndrome is just one of the symptoms caused by this deletion. It is generally considered one of the most serious types of 22q11 deletion but each child with it is effected differently.  

By doing this skydive and raising awareness, we hope to make it that little bit easier for Zack and his family so he grows up in a world knowledgeable of his syndrome.
