Story
I lost my dad unexpectedly from a heart attack on the eve of my first GCSE exams in 2005. The shock has never really left me.
I became a mother myself some years later and all of a sudden life had a new meaning. I realised how much I wanted to be the healthiest version of myself, to live a life as long and full as I could with them and to not have them ever suffer the pain of losing their mummy in the same way.
Three months ago I 'ran' (ran, walked, stopped, nearly collapsed) my first mile in almost 14 years. It was the hardest thing and I was annoyed with myself for letting myself get so unfit that I couldn't even run. I nearly put my trainers back in the box. But instead I decided to sign up for Chester Marathon to give me an incentive. Go big or go home right!
Now, despite those first hard miles I have found a new me, a new sense of direction. I've found a way to deal with my dads death, a way to have five minutes peace to myself (haha) and I want to push my body as far as I can, to see how much I'm capable of and be the strongest, fittest and best I can be for my children
I just want to honour and help... honour an amazing man who I was lucky enough to call Daddy, and to help prevent other children from losing a parent unexpectedly to heart disease.
Thanks so very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I appreciate each and every one of you. Every penny helps, and is so valued. And Daddy, I love you x
