Great North Run 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
The Great North Run is something I have wanted to do for a few years now and I have finally signed up to do it this year for an amazing charity.
Tynedale Hospice at Home provide end of life Nursing Care, a Hospital Transport Service and Pre and Post Bereavement Support to children, adults, and families. All the care they provide is totally free.
I have chosen Tynedale Hospice at Home as it is a charity close to my heart. They provided end of life care for my Nana before she lost her battle with cancer and supported not only her, but myself, my mam and my sister. The nurses and carers helped with every day tasks such as helping Nana manage her medication, to popping in for a chat with her to keep her company and answer any questions she had. My Nana wanted to be cared for in her own home and not go into a hospice and they made sure this was possible. They also sat by her bedside every night with us and were there with us until the very end. I will never forget what Tynedale Hospice at Home did for my family and raising money for the charity is my way of giving something back to help others and saying a massive thank you for what they did for us.
I have already started training as this is going to be extremely challenging for me not only physically but mentally, but I can't wait to say I have done it!
If anyone would like to sponsor me I would really appreciate it!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
