Story
Well I did it!!! I walked the central section of the Hadrian’s Wall (Chollerford to Gisland) on the 11-12 September 2010, that's 25miles as the crow flies and I'm still trying to work out the total vertical climb (& decents).
It's not too late to donate!!!
All of the money will be going to the British Red Cross, who will put it to use where it is most needed.
The British Red Cross has been working with volunteers across , they have been helping survivors since the flooding began by delivering food, health services, shelter and relief items (including hygiene kits and cooking equipment).
In the event that the Red Cross raises more money than can be reasonably and efficiently spent, any surplus funds will be used to help them prepare for and respond to other humanitarian disasters either overseas or here in the .
Within the UK, they not only help when we have large emergencies (like floods) but offer daily social care.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I'm asking everyone I know to please donate at least £3 (that's one pint).
£8 can allow the Red Cross to provide a food parcel that can feed a family of 5 for 2 weeks.
It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
Be the change that you want to see in the world!
