Lana and I love to make cakes! We decided that we should sell cakes to raise money for IIH UK who have been there to support us in good times and bad.

On the 29th February 2012 we held a cake sale and Tombola in the Market Shopping centre Burgess Hill and raised £372!

My daughter Lana was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension 3 years ago at the age of 5 1/2. She has had over 30 General Anaesthetics in the last 3 years for treatment of her condition and over 40 hospital admissions.

She has had 5 spinal surgeries, 3 abdominal surgeries, 19 Lumbar punctures, and in December 2011 she had brain surgery to insert a shunt in to her brain. The shunt drains the excess fluid from around her brain. It stops her from going blind, helps with the crippling headaches and lets her lead her life the best she can despite her symptoms.

Lana is an extremely brave and wonderful little girl, she never complains, just keeps going as best she can and longs for people to know that she is different but doesn't want to be treated differently.
