London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

We will once again be cheering on #TheBrainyBunch team around the most famous 26.2mile course on Sunday 28 April 2019. They'll be giving it everything they’ve got to help defeat brain tumours

Story

I don't want anyone else to have to go through what our family is going through right now. That's why I'm raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity by running the London Marathon.

The 6th of November 2017 started like any other normal day. It was a Monday. But around 12pm out of nowhere my Mum, Sandy Whitehead, suffered a violent seizure. And a month later she was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumour. As many other families are, we were underprepared for the long and traumatic journey that has changed our lives forever.

She had the first tumour removed, and after a round of chemotherapy and radiotherapy got the all clear. But the relief didn't last for long as a check-up scan revealed the cancer had returned only a few months
later.

Throughout this whole process I have been so moved by my Mum's courage and determination. She inspires me every day. Cancer has taken so much from her - some of which she'll never get back. But all that remains is an energy that lights up the lives of everyone she meets. I feel my mum's light with me every day, and I know I will feel it when I’m a sweaty mess at mile 15. On the 28th of April I will complete something that I never thought i'd be able to do and when my Mum sees me cross that finish line, she'll see the strength that she's given me. Hopefully this will remind her of just how strong she is.

Please give what you can to support us in raising money for this
amazing charity. Every amount means so much. Thank you.
