Hello!

Thank you so much for coming to my JustGiving page to donate your hard earned cash to the wonderful cause that is Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity!

As you all probably know I have now been working for the Charity for over 2 years and absolutely love it! It is such an inspirational place to be from the work of the doctors and nurses to the strength of the children themselves.

I have recently moved to the Challenge Events team and through this I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to join the Great Wall of China Trek and I'm so excited!! I have been really getting into my training spending at least 4 hours at the gym a week and trying to walk up as many stairs as possible as from the photos I have been shown I think my knees are in for a good work out!

I will be trekking for 8 days for up to 8 hours over the beautiful hills of across one of the world’s finest landmarks from the 23rd October to the 2nd November

All the money raised on this trek will go towards a new state of the art theatre in the new Heart and Lung Centre for the Hospital which is being built over the next few years. This will finally provide the hospital with the space and comfort it needs to provide the World class care it currently gives. Currently the wards are very cramped so fitting in all the equipment and staff needed to treat these very sick children is difficult; the new centre will allow for much larger rooms to make treatment by the bed side much easier and safer. Also currently parents are unable to stay over night in the room with their child; however, the new rooms will also contain beds so children will always have their parents near them.  This is why the Charity is committed to raising £50 million a year to help to provide a better environment which will ultimately improve the treatment for the children.
