Great North Swim 2018 · 8 June 2018 to 10 June 2018 ·
Hello!
As you may know, this December I will be turning 40. As well as stepping up my skincare regimen to include the blood of virgins, I have decided to challenge myself - and do a little good, if possible, at the same time.
You may also know that a fairly large number of my closest, dearest family members, including my father, have been affected by cancer. Macmillan in fact run the unit which has recently treated both my father and my uncle, and the professionals there have done their utmost to make the experience of not pleasant then at least human, humane and bearable. Because of this and because of the excellent support and information they provide to many, many people each year, I have chose to support them among two other charities in the coming months.
Between now and December, I will be entering (and completing) four competitive open water swims if at least a mile. These will be The a great north swim in Windermere (10 June), Hever Castle (8 July), Castle Howard (21 July) and the Serpentine (22 Sept)
I will also be running a total of 40k spread over four races, the first of which is 29th July. And i’ll I’ve two different fundraising pages set up for that as those will be to benefit Mind and Cancer Research UK.
Please, if you can, sponsor me in support of one of these fab charities, which have helped those I love (and indeed me) at times of great personal difficulty. I promise I won’t be asking again for a few years.
And by the way: this isn’t my midlife crisis. You’ll know when that has hit because I’ll be doing a triathlon.
Love to all, and thanks for your support in any form - love and carbs also gratefully received Xx
