Story

Thank you kindly for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I will be running The London Marathon for The Brain Tumour Charity. I have always wanted to run The London Marathon as a personal challenge and to raise money for a fantastic cause. The charity has continued to support Neal Challice, a long term friend of our family with his tumour; for over a decade. I promised Neal I would run the marathon a few years ago and now I am finally challenging myself and keeping my promise. To Neal with Love xx

Every day 25 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour - that's over 9,000 people every year.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults in under 40, yet they receive less than 2% of funding on cancer research and survival times have improved little over the last 40 years.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the UK's largest brain tumour charity and the leading dedicated funder of brain tumour research. Their aim is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of brain tumours and one day beat this devastating disease.

The Brain Tumour Charity is an incredible foundation that relies 100% on voluntary donations. Please see below how your support can make a difference.

£25 - Could cover the cost of providing the essential information needed by someone currently living with a brain tumour.

£50 - Could contribute to the funding of a crucial Clinical Trials Co-ordinator - the person who sets the brain tumour clinical trial up, runs the patient recruitment and processes the critical data produced from the trial.

£100 - Could fund one Support Group meeting for people living with a brain tumour and their families. This allows them to ask question and share stories with people in similar circumstances, gaining invaluable support from peers and healthcare professionals.

£250 - Could help cover a day's research for one of our leading brain tumour researchers to further the understanding of a particular type of brain tumour, in order to provide more targeted treatments.

Research offers the only real hope of dramatic improvements in the diagnosis, treatment and management of brain tumours.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Being a 'yachtie' I only found out I would be able to fly back and run this the other day, with less than 60 days to train and living on the water this will most definitely be a challenge for me. I would greatly appreciate your support to help me raise as much as I can in the little time there is before the big day!

Thank you so much :)
