We raise funds to purchase and update medical scanning and associated equipment for Poole Hospital, to assist with the diagnosis and care of cancer sufferers. Other patients also benefit which include the assessment of breast, heart, stroke and skeletal problems. We are grateful for your support.

Story

In September 2008, just after my 22 birthday, I was diagnosed with grade 3 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was told the Cancer was spreading quickly and I would start treatment immediately.

My world as I knew it had ended. I started a gruelling 9 month chemo and radiation regime which would try kick the cancer, that had consumed my body, to the curb.

This was the worst time of my life. But with the love and support  from my mum, family and a few close friends, I managed to get through it. Just as important  was the medical and psychological care of Poole Hospital and the Dorset Cancer Centre staff.

I lost all my hair, 4 stone in weight and some days, all my hope.

I was given the all clear that the cancer was not present on June 23rd 2009. Since then I have had scan after scan and hospital visit after hospital visit, telling me that I’m still clear, still luckily rid of cancer that has taken so many that I know and love.

10 years on and I am a wife and mother and for most of the time that period feels like a bad dream.

In 2014 Mums Hairdressing business started ‘Monday’s at Synergy’ where the awesome staff take time out of their lives every month to look after the hair of women going through chemotherapy and radiation, free of charge. I feel like now is a good time to give something back myself.

My grandfather Geoff, who I adored, did this walk for cancer research 20 years ago. I wanted to do this again in his memory, with my husband and dad, to raise some funds for the awesome work the staff do in Poole. The NHS makes me super proud to be a UK citizen, and they need the money now more than ever.

Please support me in my walk to raise funds for Poole Cancer Centre!

Thank you so much. I will put up my itinerary here. As I know a few people have voiced interest in taking part in sections of the walk.
