Fundraising for Daft As A Brush Cancer Care Charitable Trust
£1,920
raised of £1,000 target
by 61 supporters
We provide transport, free of charge, to North-East cancer patients.

Story

On the 17-18th July 2022 a group of friends are taking part in the National 3 peaks which involves climbing Scotland, England and Wales highest peaks, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. This challenge will be done over 24hours with a support driver in a dedicated minibus. The team will set foot on the first hill in Scotland at around 5pm and aim to finish prior to 24hours on Wales.

Our team consists of myself, Paul Wolfe, Alan Leggett, Lisa Nightingale, Chris Reay, Dan Edmondson, Andy Wallace, Nikki Alderson, Sam Scott, Lee Tiffin and Alastair Johnson. Not forgetting our valuable support driver Stephen Alderson.

Food, drink, rest and sleep will all be done on the bus. It's going to be physically and mentally demanding but also very worthwhile as a challenge to raise money for a very worthy charity.

Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care, specialise in transporting cancer patients to and from hospital for their Chemotherapy and / or Radiotherapy treatment, free of charge.

The service involves collecting and transporting patients in a safe and comfortable environment from where they are living to where they will be having their treatment. If required, a volunteer companion will stay with the patient during their Chemotherapy and / or Radiotherapy.

The patient is returned to their home in readiness for their next course of treatment. The charity completes some 60,000 cancer patient journeys each year with a passionate team of over 400 volunteers and a fleet of some 40+ ambulances. All donations received go directly to supporting cancer patients on their journey to recovery with Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care.

Please give as much, or as little as you can. Every little helps.

Thanks,

Andy and the Team
