Fund Raising for supporting Children in Care .
Challenge cycle 3350 miles (5400 km) from Seattle to New York
From August 11th until September 28th Oliver Gritz (co-founder Ride for Reading) and Neerav Dodhia (Ride for Reading participant 2009) will cycle Seattle to New York. We will be accompanied by Varsha who will drive the support car.
From Seattle the riders will cycle across the Cascades mountain range and the Rocky Mountains. We will pass through Yellowstone Park. From there we continue on through Wyoming to South Dakota where they pass by Mount Rushmore and Badlands National Park. After cycling through Iowa and Wisconsin the riders will cross Lake Michigan by ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon, Michigan.
We will then cross Michigan and a part of Ontario (Canada) until we reach Niagara Falls. The last stretch of the ride will lead through the State of New York and a very small piece of Pennsylvania. The tour will end officially on July 10th at the house of Oliver’s parents-in-law near Trenton, New Jersey (about 60 miles south of New York City). It will cover a distance of 5400 km (3350 miles).
