Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I would like to help St Catherine’s, as they have helped me and my family through the dreadful illness and death of my mum. Therefore, I have crazily agreed to run the Brighton marathon on the 14th April 2013 to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice and would kindly ask for your sponsorship.
I have never run a marathon before and I certainly don’t intend to do another. I have pledged to raise £2000 for St Catherine’s which could pay for four experienced in-patient nurses for three day shifts. This is something that mum had every day for the month that she was in St Catherine’s, so have seen at first-hand how important this service is in providing pain control.
I also think that the thought of people sponsoring me will spur me on to keep running on the day and also in my training! Without the help and support of St Catherine’s my mum would have suffered greatly. We as a family are completely indebted to them and I hope that in some small way, through your sponsorship, we may be able to give some financial help back to them.
