EThe UK 3 Peaks Challenge (With a load of Unfit Geezers) · 7 April 2014

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Hi All

On May 25th 2014 I will, possibly unwisely, be attempting the National 3 Peaks Challenge. This consists of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pyke & Snowdonia in 24hrs. For a fat unfit bloke who likes a beer (see pic!!) this is a major challenge!!

I believe that it is time to give something back to people who are not as fortunate as myself. Linda & I support a lot of charities by donating but the last time I did anything personally was when I was about 13. Myself & my mate Paul played pool for 24hrs in the local Yoof Club. Maybe it was a bit of a cop out but playing pool & keeping our atheletic bodies in tune by eating banana butties we raised some cash for charity. My mind defeats me as to who the lucky charity was but we raised a few quid...

I have chosen two charity's to support & hope to raise money for both. The reason for this is to give everybody a choice. Lots of you will be touched or know someone who is touched by Parkinson's & this may be your choice. Alternatively many off you will know of Raise The Roof & all the great work the team do to improve the everyday lives of children & adults within Kenya. Feel free to donate to both...please!!

Let me introduce the beneficiaries of you good nature & hard earned wedge will go to...

Raise The Roof Kenya

Raise the roof Kenya is a wonderful charity which was set up by my lovely friend Holly Bantleman.

This lady is an unbelievable pocket rocket, a real live dynamo who inspires everybody she meets.

Whilst maintaining a full time job, Holly worked so hard to get the charity off the ground single handedly before being joined by friends, family  & supporters of the work she started.

The work the team achieve now is nothing short of breathtaking, building centres for education & welfare, working constantly to improve the lives of Kenyan people.

Parkinson's UK:

This terrible disease affects so many people including my lovely Father-in-Law Bob Alder.

This is as close to my family's heart as Cancer Research & Breast Cancer Awareness. We recently lost my lovely cousin Christine to cancer along with the legend that was Milton (Chris Ivin) & 'Big Dave' Coleshill to name but a few. I donate to cancer charities via other peoples attempts to raise money in their own way & as hard a decision as it was I believe it is my time to celebrate the unbelievable work that Parkinson's UK do for people like Bob & the devastated families who pick up the pieces around the sufferers of Parkinson's & the related illness that the disease brings with it.

Please, please donate as much of your hard earned cash as you can possibly afford. I promise to work my backside off to pay you back in sweat, aching limbs & maybe a few tears...!

Feel free to take the p... with your comments, you know I would!!

Thanks Lammo
