Retinoblastoma is a rare type of eye cancer which mainly affects children under 5 years of age.  Spotting one of the signs or symptoms of retinoblastoma, such as a white pupil in the eye in a flash photo, can be a worry for any parent.  The signs, such as a white reflection from the pupil, or a squint, maybe caused by other less severe conditions.  Although this could be the case it is always best to have a child's eyes checked just to rule out any serious illness.  The most important thing to do if you see any of the symptoms is to get your child's eyes examined quickly.

If you have young children check from time to time that they do not have the symptoms.  Sometimes it is relatives who may only see the child occasionally that spot a change over time.  More information on the symptoms here.

Incredible story here of how this little girl's mother found out she had the cancer - as shown on TV recently.
