At the beginning of 2014 nine people got together and decided to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association(MNDA).  There are many charities out there but this one is very close to the heart for one member of the Newbury Neuro Nine!  

In 2011 Lisa's Grandad lost his 30 year battle with MND. For those of you who haven't come across this horrendous disease, basically it leaves the spirit and soul of a person intact but destroys their body bit by bit, whilst the person remains aware!  It is a devastating condition and having to watch her beloved Grandad lose his brave battle was heart breaking!  Brave is the word, he never moaned or complained, he fought with his head held high and now it is the time to give something back! 

In June 2015 the said 9 will climb the 3 highest mountains in the British Isles in 24 hours!  Every penny raised will go towards helping people with MND, 'we aim for a world free of MND'.  

We should also mention apart from the personal reason for this challenge; 7 of the 9 work in Berkshire for the Community  Based Neuro- Rehabilitation Team helping people with this condition and many other long term illnesses.  

So please dig deep and sponsor us because if we can move anywhere near a 'world free of MND' it would be a better place!
