Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page! We are a father and daughter team hoping to raise money for the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team as we embark upon our marathon journey. This is our 2nd marathon together and as we began our training we initially couldn’t decide upon a charity to fundraise for. Taking a break from getting our miles in, on the  13th January we decided to climb Slieve Commedagh. We reached the summit with family and as we began to make our descent it became clear to us the commitment, courage and bravery that MMRT display daily. Phoning for a crisis wasn’t what we thought would be part of our hike that Sunday but we watched as these brave men and women put other’s safety first. We decided almost immediately what we would fundraise for this year. No brainer!! 

The Mournes Mountain Rescue team is made up entirely of volunteers. Turning out in all weathers, 365 days a year, day or night, these volunteers have a common purpose which is to help anyone who is in trouble on the hills. 

Please help us as we try our best to give a fraction of what these volunteers deserve. Every mile we run in the lead up to our 26.2 miles on the 5th May will be dedicated to this team. We look forward to running the streets of Belfast in aid of these wonderful men and women and we are thankful of any support that you can give to us along the way.
