I am running the London Marathon for Barnardo's and I hope to be able to raise £2,000 in doing so.  Being a teacher I have seen how Barnardo's get involved with primary and secondary schools across the UK to help improve the life's of vulnerable children. Barnardo's aim to bring out the very best in every child despite issues of child poverty, domestic violence and disability.

My £2,000 could help to pay for over 200 hours of specialist support for young carers, providing them with the help they need to cope with day-to-day life. It could pay for training for a group of up to 50 professionals to know the warning signs of sexual exploitation and help children escape homes where domestic violence occurs. Or it could allow a family with disabled family members a day trip with specialist equipment and carers. Barnardo's vision for 2018 is stronger families, safer childhoods and positive futures. 

Running a marathon is by far my biggest physical challenge but please donate (large or small) and help me to support Barnardo's.
