We fund research and support families to make life better for kids with cancer

Story

In march 2020 our little girl was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 6. Her treatment will continue for two years until April 2022 and she intends to raise as much money as she can throughout her journey. At the moment all hairdressers are closed and Niamh is challenging all men to a DIY Shave for Niamh, donating the price of their haircut to the NECCR. (Oh and she says no blades are allowed :-) ) Why the NECCR? Niamhs consultant significantly praised the efforts of this charity for all the help they have gave to Ward 4 at the RVI.

The NECCR has now been taken over by Children’s Cancer North and therefore this is our new page x

Children's Cancer North is dedicated to making life better for children with cancer across the North East and Cumbria. Around 100 children from across the region are newly diagnosed with cancer every year and come to the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle for their treatment. Children's Cancer North aims to improve their quality of life through transforming the environment and play experience on the wards, providing access to potentially life saving clinical trials and funding revolutionary research to find more effective treatments.

About the charity

We are here to make life better for children with cancer. For as long as families in the North East and Cumbria are affected by childhood cancer, we will invest in revolutionary research to find cures and kinder treatments and ensure those directly affected get the support they need.
