Dear all, lots of you have asked if I'd like anything special for my half century. I actually don't need anything and although I agree that birthdays generally are about wants not needs, if you feel that you would like to donate to Hearing Dogs then that would be great.

You may already know that Matilda, our youngest, is hearing impaired. Her hearing loss is not so bad, but it has opened our eyes to issues like  not waking up if a fire alarm goes off, not hearing a warning shout when wandering into the road etc and Hearing Dogs do great work in sorting out life for deaf and hearing impaired people
