Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 24th November I will be walking across the 02 in London in aid of LimbPower, a charity that supports individuals with limb impairments.

As many will already know, my daughter Ivy was born with a rare congenital condition called Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (or PFFD for short). As a result of this condition, Ivy has a significantly shortened right femur meaning that she is reliant on an extension prosthesis to walk. Going forward Ivy will require life changing surgery and will ultimately be reliant on a lower leg prosthetic for the rest of her life.

LimbPower (and in particular, LimbPower Juniors) support people in Ivy's position who have to adapt to life with a limb impairment in too many ways to list. This includes supporting individuals and families coming to terms with limb impairment, support funding for specialist prosthetics and running events that showcase the wide range of activities available to individuals with limb impairment. In short they bring a sense of normality and help people realise that a limb impairment doesn't mean an impaired way of life; you can do anything you put your mind to!
