London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

Welcome to our London marathon team page! This year, our London Marathon team is going to be bigger and better than ever, and you are helping us to reach our goal.

Story

Cancer... the one word that everyone dread's hearing in their lifetime. One that we very sadly had to hear last year, as Nick's very lovely, kind and funny Uncle Dave was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. As you can imagine, our whole family are devastated - and our Brave Dave is currently undergoing his radiotherapy treatment after completing some very grueling hormone therapy.

Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. Over
11,000 men die every year in the UK and the number increases every year.

Thanks to the amazing work of the scientists at the Prostate Cancer
Research Center, men like our Uncle Dave have been lucky enough to have the treatment they need made available to them that will enable them to go on and  live a 'normal' (whatever that is!) life.

As the gene runs in Nicks family, there is also a chance that one day we could be dealing with this devastating disease again, so we desperately want to help fund the research and hard work that team PCRC do and allow them to keep on finding revolutionary therapies - and eventually a cure - for Prostate Cancer!

The Mission of PCRC is to develop new therapies for men with advanced prostate cancer. Their immediate goal is to increase survival rates, and with a vision to find a cure for the disease. Every pound raised will help PCRC achieve this vision. If you can spare any pennies at all, we would be SO SO grateful for your support toward a charity that is so very close our hearts.

Thank you!

Much love, Nick and Kristina xxx

P.S - We really, really encourage any man over the age of 40 to go to their doctors and ask for the simple blood test to check if their PSA level is slightly raised (come on boys, you can handle a needle!!!) It really is that simple! Catching this disease early means that your prognosis is SO much better - so please go and get yourself checked and put your mind at rest!
