Story
Swim completed on a glorious, sunny day. My time of 36 minutes was 4 minutes off my best for a mile but that was mainly because I couldn't focus on a good, clean stroke while fighting off others; kept my goggles on but had to stop once to replace my swim cap. You can see my effort here:

Maybe I'll do the Great North Swim, in Windermere, next year. Thanks for your sponsorships everyone (you can still donate for a few more weeks)!

I'm participating in the Great London Swim on July 3rd this year, with 5,000 other swimmers! This will be my first-ever open water swimming event - a mile around Victoria Docks (Canary Warf). I'm just hoping to get to the end and keep my goggles on when others bash me with their elbows and kick me in the face. I'm also hoping, with your help, to raise £150 for the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS).
More than one person every day, on average, drowns in the UK. Thousands more die from heart attacks or choking. The RLSS works to reduce many of these avoidable tragedies through a range of water safety, education, lifesaving and lifeguard programmes.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. I hope you'll give generously.
