In memory of Nick Tryhorn

Every year we provide care and support to over 6,500 people across South East London, both at home and in the hospice. We passionately believe that everyone should have access to the best care at the end of their lives. We need to fundraise £16 million each year to continue our services

Story

Nick Tryhorn was a beloved husband, father and friend, as well as a greatly admired and respected chartered accountant. He died on 8 February 2014, just nine months after being diagnosed with cancer.

Nick and his family were greatly supported during his illness by St Christopher's Hospice in Sydenham. We would like to raise money for the hospice in his memory and hope you might be able to make a donation here.

The St Christopher's group runs hospices in Sydenham and Orpington that provide much-needed care and support to people who are dying. Care is provided free of charge - but only a third of its funding comes from the NHS. So it relies heavily on charitable support.

Although Nick was able to stay at home until the end, we received great support from hospice staff who were on call day and night to visit and offer us advice over the phone. We also drew comfort from the knowledge that, if it came to it, Nick would be able to move into a hospice rather than have to endure a hospital environment. We hope that other families who find themselves in our situation in the future will be able to benefit from a similar level of support. So we really hope you can make a donation in Nick's memory.
