Over 90 colleagues from the Cobham and Dartford offices of Willmott Dixon Construction will be taking part in the Cobham Challenge 2015 – Snowdon Spectacular. It will take place between 26-28 June 2015. We would welcome your support.
This year we are again proud to be supporting Chestnut Treehouse Hospice (CTH) with the goal to raise £60,000, surpassing last year’s excellent work and again enough to pay for the charity for a week and beyond.
Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice in East and West Sussex and cares for over 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions from Sussex and South East Hampshire. There are potentially 1,000 families with life-limited children in Sussex. Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family including psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support.
The hospice costs nearly £3 million per year to run. Families are never charged for their care and less than 8p in every pound is funded by the government, so we rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.
This year we are venturing to Snowdonia from Friday 26 June to Sunday 28 June. On the Friday there will be an early start to get up to North Wales and the challenge starts straight away!
The Hikers will be taking on a scenic, but tough 13 mile hike/ half Marathon through Snowdonia National Park east of Snowdon. The Road Cyclists will do a 40 mile loop from Llanrwst taking in the Gwydyr Forest Park also known as the landscape of lakes. The Mountain Bikers have an afternoon of doing big climbs, big descents opening the mountain bike challenge in the guise of the 15 mile Marin trail that again loops from Llanrwst.
This is just the warm up!
On day 2 The Hikers have a challenging 20 mile hike taking on the Snowdon summit and looping around the lake of Llyn Padarn before returning to Llanberis. The Road Cyclists will endure a 108 mile cycle through and around the Snowdonia National Park, and the Mountain Bikers will do an early morning summit of Snowdon, then on to do a 40 mile figure of 8, crossing over and finishing in Llanberis.
Through Just Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity. Just Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
