In memory of Penny Gillies

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

5 friends (all older than me) and I decided over too many ales to go for a long bike ride this summer. At one end of the spectrum there are lycra clad folk interested in the weight of their racers. The other end will be taking it easy and parking our Raleigh Grifters at every good pub we see en route. When I realised there was no way out of jumping on my bike, I thought it made sense to raise some money for a very worthwhile cause along the way. We depart from Morecambe prom on 20th June, finishing up on Sun 23rd.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association helped my Mum throughout the course of her illness. It really is a cruel and despicable condition. My hope is that a few quid can help those who need it and to help fund research into better treatments and eventual cure.

Thanks so much for donating.
