Pseudomyxoma Survivor aims to raise awareness of PMP and appendix cancers, to provide emotional and practical support and information to survivors and their families on our website and online community. We are also dedicated to raising funds for research into this extremely rare disease.

Story

I am raising money for a special friend of mine who has this rare cancer called Pseudomyxoma Petrinei.  She has a very close place in my heart and despite her diagnosis and many ops and treatments she never gives up and is always there for me and others.  She is a true fighter.

I met her three years ago in hospital, we were both very ill and I still remember the first time we met and the twinkle in her eyes when I came round my second long traumatic life saving operation, she helped me so much and its now my time to help her!

I am cutting my hair and donating it to a children's wig charity called The little Princess trust, as I've always worked with children and would like to continue to give children something.

Due to my illness I have had to give up my career plus much more and due to my treatments I am no longer able to donate blood or many of my organs so the one thing that is left to donate is my hair.  People who know me well enough will know how much my hair means to me.  My treatment recently has caused more severe hair loss and has caused it to start getting thin and brittle, so I decided before it gets more severe it's time to donate it.

I am hoping this will not only raise funds for both this charity and The Little Princess Trust but it will also raise awareness of this rare cancer that needs to be recognised more.

Thank you all for reading my  story and thanks in advance for your donations.  Anything is most grateful!
